Mills Memorial Hospital Replacement
We are building a new, state-of-the-art hospital in Terrace, BC, to address current and future patient care needs. At almost double the size of the existing facility (approximately 285,000 square feet), the new, acute care hospital and integrated services facility will be a centre for trauma services, orthopedic surgeries, pathology, radiology, clinical support, and pharmacy services. The hospital will also be a training site for medical students in the Northern Medical Program.

Job Summary
In accordance with established hospital policies and procedures provides and co-ordinates nursing care to assigned patients consistent with current standards of nursing practice and the clinical specialty of Medical Surgical, maternity & pediatric nursing.  Practices as a member of the Acute Care Unit nursing team.

Top 4 Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for organizing the admission, assessment, treatment and evaluation of all patients on the Acute Care Unit. (Medical Surgical, ALC, Palliative Care, Maternity, Newborn and Pediatrics)
  • Formulates nursing care plan according to individual assessment data and evaluates nursing care. Utilizes Kardex to share nursing care planning with staff.
  • Accountable for maintenance of complete and accurate records of nursing observations and interventions, including all unit flow sheets.
  • Ensures the confidentiality of all patient information is maintained through discussion and application of hospital policies.

Job Qualifications

  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
  • Medical and surgical nursing experience required with pediatric, neonatal, maternity nursing experience preferred.
