Job Description

Northern Health is accepting applications for a full time registered nurse at the Stuart Lake Hospital.

Stuart Lake Hospital is a six acute care bed facility with six additional long term care beds.  The Hospital serves the community of Fort St James as well as the First Nation’s Communities of Takla, Yekooche, Nak’azdli, and Tl’azt’en (Binche and Tachie).  The hospital has 24/7 emergency, diagnostic, laboratory, palliative care and a pharmacy. It offers full and part time physicians as well as visiting specialists.

 Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse in the medical/surgical unit you are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care and nursing practice activities.

Top 4 Key Responsibilities

  • Interviews patients and their families for nursing histories to effect comprehensive individualized patient care plans and discharge planning.
  • Is responsible for the care of the acutely ill patients and complex care residents as defined by the College of Registered Nurses of BC nursing skills required of a Graduate Nurse.
  • Recognizes and interprets symptoms and reports to the proper authority.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records of medications, treatments, nursing care and observations of patients.

 Job Qualifications

  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or RPN registrant.
  • Current CPR Level C.
