Job Description

Northern Health is accepting applications for a permanent full time to cover in the emergency and ICU units at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital. Shift Rotation/hours of work: Days, Nights - 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00.

Prince Rupert Regional Hospital is the largest hospital in northwest BC with 27 acute care beds. They offer emergency services, ultrasound, CT scans, surgery, extended care, pediatrics, radiology, and obstetrics.  Additional services such as diabetes education, health heart and rehabilitation, podiatry, orthopedics and other visiting specialists.

Build on your experience by:

  • Assessing, recording and reporting the health status of the unit's patients to identify and document patient status.
  • Providing direct nursing care to patients.
  • Evaluating patient response to the care by assessing the effect of the nursing interventions and modifying interventions as appropriate.

Your background includes:

  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
  • Post-graduate certification in Emergency Nursing or Critical Care Nursing or a minimum of one year's recent related experience in an Emergency or ICU setting or an equivalent combination of training and experience acceptable to the hospital.
  • Current certification in CPR - Basic Rescuer level required. Current ACLS certification preferred.
  • All Specially Trained Nursing Skills (STN) related to the unit of employment must be completed within six (6) months of employment.
